Maironiai chapel

The chapel is in beautiful Dubysa valley, the Kelmė - Tytuvėnai road, two kilometers from Maironiai church. The chapel stands a large stone on which is embossed with the check, which, according to the old people, the child's foot and stick a few. Roughly 163 years ago a local resident Žilinskas found this stone and place a small built 1, 5 m height shrine with the Blessed Mary statue, and next - the cross.  Žilinskas until the end of his earthly life oversaw the chapel and miraculous Wellspring. After Žilinskas death on the stone was erected on the other, higher, at least four people it accommodates a wooden chapel. It was built by  Mr. Jautakis, who lived in the village Pavengrys. Chapel consecrated Saudininkai, pastor. Mr. Vaškevičius. In the chapel of the Blessed it was. Chapels inside the altar of the Blessed Mary statue. Another was the Blessed Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Mary Heart paintings were stolen along with other works of art. Near the altar bricked see the famous stone with markings. On the walls were displayed at the Stations of the Cross. The chapel has been robbed several times, stole all the pictures, Stations of the Cross and Holy Mary figurine. The current St. Mary statue of the Virgin, the chapel, the monk gave Mickevičius, it is already the fifth. Shrines tin roof, masonry status as a centenarian building, very good. For fifty meters from the chapel is sources, which water accumulates in the pit, and the excess water flows into the river Dubysa.
