Vidzgirio botaninis draustinis

Alytaus miesto teritorijoje driekiasi 452 ha Vidzgirio miškas – unikalus gamtos kampelis, kuriame veši plačialapiai bei griovų ir šlaitų miškai, skroblynai, ąžuolynai, didelę botaninę vertę turintys retieji augalai, gyvena daug saugomų gyvūnų rūšių. Nenuostabu, kad jis paskelbtas botaniniu draustiniu. Tiems, kurie domisi gamta, istorija ir mėgsta paklajoti, čia įrengtas ekologinis pažintinis takas, vedantis iki Radžiūnų (dar vadinamo Pilaite) piliakalnio.

The Vidzgiris forest occupies the area of 452 hectares and spans vastly along the Alytus town territory – a unique landscape full of large-leaved trees and wash and skew forests, hornbeam groves, oak-woods, rare plants of high botanical value, many breeds of protected animals. No wonder that it is declared a botanical reservation. There is an ecological path for those who take an interest in nature, history and love wandering; the path leads to Radžiūnai mound (also called Pilaitė).
